I have finished reading the proofs of How to Think Like a Mathematician, packaged them up and sent them on to the publisher. Hooray! Any problems were minor; the biggest problem was that some of the diagrams were incorrect. I drew sketches for my original manuscript; the plan was that a professional would use them to provide a polished version. Unfortunately, in some pictures the artist seems to have misunderstood. For the principle of induction I had a picture of a finger pushing over some dominoes. Unfortunately, the polished version looks like a big worm attacking some quadrilaterals.
Having said all that, the book does look rather good now and that include the pictures as, in general, the artist did a good job. The book has come a long way since the handwritten notes on scraps of paper that I started collecting way back in the early nineties. Can’t wait to get the final product.
